Lowcountry Artists Gallery is pleased to present “Chasing the Light”, an

exhibition featuring the light-inspired and colorful works of impressionist Merrie McNair.


“Chasing the Light”

 is a joyful display of Lowcountry-inspired oil paintings. Her art shows the way in which light can both illuminate and shadow to create a memory or an emotion that transcends the canvas. Through sailboats, coastal landscapes and representational abstracts - Merrie captures light’s fleeting yet memorable play on the things we love. Many of the works in this exhibition also carry a deeper, spiritual thread—reflecting themes of hope, presence, and the quiet persistence of light even in uncertain moments.

Monday to Saturday 11am to 6pm 

Sunday 1pm to 5pm

Established in 1982, Lowcountry Artists Gallery is Charleston, South Carolina’s oldest artist-owned fine art gallery, located in the historic French Quarter.


Managed by nine renowned artists and featuring 20 guest artists, the gallery showcases a diverse collection of original paintings, photography, prints, sculptures, and jewelry, ranging from traditional Lowcountry landscapes to contemporary and abstract works.


Unique pieces like life-size copper frogs, miniature constructions, and sweetgrass baskets are also on display. Meet our artists daily for personal consultations, commissions, or to explore our extensive collection. Visit us at Charleston’s premier art destination!
